Get a personalized version of the Hacker News homepage and find similar stories for any story.
How does it work?
Once installed, you'll see a "recommended" section on the HN menu, and you can "like" stories to identify your interests. Stories will also have a "similar" buttons that shows related stories from historical HN posts.
Is it private?
Your likes are stored locally on your device. They are sent to an external server to get recommendations without any identifying information.
How are stories recommended?
The 500 newest and top stories from the HN API are compared against your liked stories using cosine similarity. Similar stories compare against 500k historical posts to find the most relevant ones.
Does it change Hacker News?
The extension keeps the native HN interface and functionality as is, only adding 'like' and 'similar' buttons to stories, along with a new recommended page.
